  1. RealOpty,

I currently use the Asus B250 Plus Expert Mine mobo. (only supports 13 cards, but has slots for 20)

    I run a Intel® - Core™ i5-6500 3.2GHz Processor - Silver/ blue.

8GB of ram is good enough, the real processing is done on the video cards, so not a whole lot is needed on the mobo.

  2. I would recommend Asus 's newer Miner motherboard, it can grow up to 20 video cards.

You can purchase the required power supplies over time as you grow. i.e. one PS per 8 cards. Make sure to get the 1600 watt power supplies that are made for 8 GPUs.

Also get a frame for the rig, I have 2 frames per rig, with my limitation of 13 video cards.

  3. Can we get the Graft wallet to be in a different location on Windows 10.?

I use Backblaze to backup my pc, and the "Program Files (x86)" is not one of the directories that gets backed up.

Turtle eve stores in a location under the User directory.

I im sitting on an Octominer still NO  OS on it ...   i only have some older cards not hashing on my gaming comps atm.... 750ti ,   gt 710 2 gigddr5 , r7240, r7350, and 2 made in china cards that will get my like 160-180 h/s no idea what chip really in them i think its gtx 460 or something they called them 750ti and flashed them on bios im sure

LMK Iver never herd of this OS and would love to acctually get this thing hashing so do i need anything else to burn OS  to usb like RUFUS or anything thanks alot for post just found this forum

    Go to https://hiveos.farm

Then download the hive and the HDD installer, have a 8GB USB stick to put the OS on.

    This download is slow,

Then once youput the OS on the USB stick, insert into your miner, and start it.

Go to the hive, and create a RIG, with a password, needed to access from the website.

Once you have the RIG number and password you made, go to the terminal screen on the miner, and input them.

You will want to run the command firstrun -f, so it performs an upgrade to the OS. Then you should be mining.

There are a few commands from the miner screen you can run.  agent-screen,  minier  etc.

Go back to the website, and watch the miner in several ways.

This is one of my RIGs, it is not tuned as good as I would like

  5. This was no mods to the card or the miner.

Once i reset the install, it worked for a while then stopped. so I am having problems with mining xmr on hiveos.

Same cards on Turtle coin that I use on monero, the turtle mines fine. The xmr does not I get the following in the hiveos agent screen

    Sat May  5 22:15:26 EDT 2018
Failed to read xmr-stak from localhost:60045
    Hashrate xmr-stak 0 kH/s
    {"method":"stats","jsonrpc":"2.0","id":0,"params":{"rig_id":"xxxx","passwd":"xxxx","miner":"xmr-stak","miner_stats":null,"total_khs":"0","temp":["0","42","45","39"],"fan":["0","20","32","68"],"power":["0","","","46"],"df":"2.1G","cpuavg":[0.01,0.16,0.09]}}

    Now it never see's the cards.  2 x R9 390 and 1 x RX580.

If I cannot get this fixed, then I will have to drop monero on hiveos

Sooo, it is not a OS, just an app to control your miners? Is it reliable/safe? What about performance? I use XMR-Stak (all-in-one).

I  load the linux  os on a USB stick from their website to start, then it loads on my rig, of cards, vega or rx 550 / 560 and so on.

It sets up a vpn channel to the website system, and allows you to setup special commands/configs for your cards.

This means my personal rig, is not running windows anymore, but their version of Ubuntu, with their drivers. you can change the drivers, which I have done for the RX550 cards, to give more h/s.

This is very reliable, after playing with the configs and getting things tuned in.
